The market for large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) in EU and OECD countries is growing rapidly. Operation and management are provided by the Czech company Second Foundation, a leader in the optimization of flexible resources and one of the largest electricity traders in the EU. Battery storage systems are used both for electricity trading and for balancing the transmission grid.
